Junior Estimator
Metalcraft Technology Inc. is a manufacturing company with more than 25 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication. We serve clients in Canada and the U.S. from our location in Coquitlam, BC. We are currently looking for a Junior Estimator to join our team.
Only candidates who live in Metro Vancouver will be considered for this position.
Job Description:
- Prepare detailed estimates for projects and take-offs.
- Communicate effectively with Productions Manager, Clients, Planners, and Production team.
- Maintain an accurate and current database of project progress, materials, order, cost codes and inventory.
- Maintain bidding process and set up cost monitoring and reporting systems/procedures.
- Monitor performance of in-house production on a daily basis. Regular shop floor visits are vital to knowing the status of the project.
- Review specifications and drawings to understand the scope of work and required content of estimate.
- Act as a liaison between customer, Engineering and Production Departments in handling clarifications during different phases of the project.
- Prepare estimates for presentation to clients and other involved parties.
- Release purchase orders to appropriate supplier(s) and/or subcontractor(s) and ensure that supplier(s) and sub-contractor(s) are aware of and commit to the stipulated schedule.
- Obtain and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes.
- Work with different teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards are adhered.
- Performs other sales-related activities as directed by Sales Manager.
Required Qualifications:
- 1 year work experience in quoting and estimating.
- Experience with ERP system to maintain cost structure.
- Experienced in MS Office (Word, Project, Excel, Power Point, & Outlook).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Able to read and analysis blueprints.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
