Press Brake Operator (Bending)
Metalcraft Technology Ltd. is a manufacturer of precision sheet metal parts serving clients in Canada and the U.S. We are located in Coquitlam, BC. and we are currently looking for a press brake operator to join our bending team.
Job Description
The press brake operator handles bending machines to shape and form metal parts according to drawing specifications defined by our clients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Set-up and Operation of a CNC machines that may include Laser tables, Sanding equipment, Waterjet Tables, and Press Brakes.
- Ensure Brake Press and Program are set properly prior to shift change in order to ensure proper workflow carry over.
- Safely operate hydraulic shear and press brake machine to shear, bend, and form steel and aluminum components
- Perform measurements and math calculations to determine the correct tools and angles to bend parts.
- Demonstrate math skills to ensure items are designed and built up to standard.
- Program selection and tooling selection.
- Ability to identify and change brake press tools
- Read and interpret technical drawings.
- Operate machines to bend metal parts.
- Measuring parts using a variety of tools and ensuring all parts meet quality requirements.
- Demonstrate care with respect to quality and thoroughness of work.
- Pitch in to help other team members to ensure the success of the whole team.
Required Qualifications:
- Able to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Able to Perform measurements and math calculations to determine the correct part profile angle and dimension.
- Able to operate machines to bend metal parts.
- Experience with Amada machines considered an asset but not required.
- Experience in metal shop, mechanical or trades work is an advantage.
- Must be detail oriented, hardworking, and comfortable with hands-on work.
- Able to work individually or as a team, with minimal supervision.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Shift is full-time, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.
- Afternoon shift position (12:PM-8:15PM)
