Metalcraft Technology Inc. is a manufacturing company with more than 25 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication. We serve clients in Canada and the U.S. from our location in Coquitlam, BC, and currently looking for a production helper to join our team. Only candidates who live in Metro Vancouver will be considered for this position.

As a production helper, you will:

  • Use the scanners to clock in and out of all job’s orders.
  • Study job orders and interpret engineering drawings to determine operations to be performed.
  • Maintain quality standards by conducting first article inspections (FAI) and using hold tags.
  • File in Work-Orders (Completed quantity counts, first article inspection sign offs), and initiating Non-conformance reports (NCR).
  • Load, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies, and work in process by hand or dolly.
  • Clean and scrape metal preparatory to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping, using scraping tool.
  • Pickup scrap from work areas, & general clean-up of the shop floor.
  • Do daily cleaning of the work area being used (including equipment and workspace).
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery.
  • Proactively report machine problems or non-routine maintenance required.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Support other activities as required by company requirements and management direction.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks/goals as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in a metal shop or other industrial/trades work is an asset.
  • Must be detail-oriented, hardworking, and comfortable with hands-on work.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong listening skills and ability to follow directions.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs as required.
  • Reliable and committed to workplace responsibilities.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Required to wear steel-toe boots.
